Youths enjoy annual Halloween in Plantsville event

By Lindsay Carey Magician the Great Leone performs.By Lindsay Carey Staff Writer The 18th annual Halloween in the Village of Plantsville drew crowds of families for a night of safe trick or treating fun. Popular costumes this year ranged from Elsa, from this year’s hit movie “Frozen,” to the classic superhero costumes like Superman and Batman. Anthony Burek was suited up as Mr. Incredible with daughters Kaitlyn Burek and Isabelle Burek waiting in line at the firehouse for some treats. The father said he brings his children to Halloween in the Village of Plantsville every year. “It’s fun and safe, it’s a good time,” said Burek. Burek, along with many of the businesses in Plantsville, proved that Halloween isn’t only for children. Parents and employees were dressed for the event too. At Zingarella’s, children could stop by a photo station to get a picture with some of the Disney Princesses. There were also two clowns, “Talula Belle and Happy” making balloon animals for the children. A couple of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were also available at the event for a photo-op with trick or treaters and magician the Great Leone performed for small groups of children.
